How To Clean A Bong

How To Clean A Bong

Icky. Smelly. Germ-infested. This is what happens when you leave your bong uncleaned. Nasty resin builds up, sticking to the glass. A putrid odor can waft from the pipes. Dangerous bacteria starts to multiply.

If you want to smoke properly, your bong needs to be thoroughly cleaned. The problem is that the traditional methods of cleaning can potentially do more harm than good. Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) is highly flammable, so putting a flame to your bong right after you clean it can be pretty dangerous.

At Resolution, we've developed a better alternative. It doesn’t require isopropyl, nor does it require excessive scrubbing. You simply pour the solution in, let is soak for a few minutes, rinse, and you’re good to go.

Let’s explain it step-by-step.

  1. Remove your bowl. Pour any dirty bong water into a sink or toilet.
  2. Shake the Resolution Gel pouch to activate the gel.
  3. Pour in the Resolution Gel. Make sure you don’t over-pour; you simply need enough to cover the glass. Place the caps which come with gel over both sides of the glass.
  4. Let the gel sit for 5-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse the glass with warm water.

Another option is to place the bong pieces inside the Resolution Gel pouch:

  1. Shake the Resolution Gel Bag. Tear of the top of the pouch. Open the resealable top.
  2. Drop in the bowl, stem, and any other small glass parts.
  3. Wait 5-15 minutes, take out the parts, and rinse.

With either method, you can quickly and effectively clean your bong. The gel and pouch are made to be reused 5-10 times, which is perfect if you’re an active bong user.

Why You Need to Clean Your Bong

Dirty bongs are a lung hazard. Unclean bongs collect debris, which is known to develop into bacteria and fungus. As you can imagine, inhaling from a bong that’s teeming with bacteria won’t be good for your lungs. You have a higher risk of respiratory irritation, and you’re more likely to catch some sort of infection. The last thing you want is to get sick from your bong.

Dirty bongs ruin a smoking session. It’s likely that you’ve paid good money for your herb, so why not get the most of it by smoking from a freshly cleaned glass? Clean smoke has a much better taste, and will make for a superior session.

Dirty bongs don’t hit smoothly. If you’ve hit your bong and you immediately fall into a convulsive coughing fit, it can be a sign that your bong isn’t fully clean. Debris in a bong can be disruptive, and will degrade the quality of your hit.

Pathogens and dirty water are a match made in hell. If you see a nasty biofilm within your glass, you’re looking at a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, and other nasty microorganisms. This resin can affect your next smoking session and sabotage your lungs. By neglecting to properly clean your bong, you’re giving these microbes a free highway to your throat and lungs, opening yourself up to a myriad of terrible infections and discomfort.

Cleaning your bong has never been easier with Resolution’s bong cleaning products. Free of harmful chemicals and ridiculously simple to use, our gel pouches are made for you to safely and conveniently clean your bong.
